"genuine" is what Berliners like to say to their peers, if they were born here. Incidentally, 1966 was a great year - at least on the western side of the Wall... I was allowed to grow up in green Zehlendorf in a middle-class and down-to-earth manner. In the days of divided Berlin, it was far less Gucci than a flea market. Even at school, I was best at chatting and writing. And it stayed that way. So, after graduating from high school, I first decided to do an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk. However, I only had fun in the editorial department, in the feuilleton, where I was allowed to write my first short articles. THAT's what I wanted to continue doing, so I went to university (FU) right after graduating in order to create a few more tangible foundations for my journalistic ambitions with history and theater studies. I used the long semester breaks for extensive trips all over the world: Europe, Mexico, and New York City again and again. After my master's degree, I remained true to the media industry as an editor, reporter and moderator: newspaper, radio, television - the whole program.
Privately, I had meanwhile fallen in love with an Englishman who, after a few years in Berlin, wanted to return to his homeland at the end of the 1990s - if I were willing to come with him. Adventurous as I was, I promptly moved to the island and have never looked back. The love for the English man did not last, but the love for the country and its people still lasts. It was deepened and consolidated through my new job as a qualified tour guide (Blue Badge Guide) and my work on various guides, which helped me over the winter months. England is a beautiful country with exciting landscapes, a moderate climate and friendly, humorous people. For more than 20 years it has given me great pleasure to show travelers and visitors the diverse charms of the kingdom and to share my enthusiasm for the rich cultural and natural treasures with others.
After my second, great husband Jürgen was ready for the island soon after we got to know each other, we bought our first mobile home. It should make it easier for us to research the books. "Glamping" has been our shared passion ever since, we prefer to go on tour for weeks with our "home on wheels". We keep discovering new things - enchanted bays, sandy beaches, cliffs and hidden parking spaces, but above all culinary highlights. Yes, dear travel friends, delicious treats and Great Britain are no longer opposites. Not only the sparkling wines and wines have been receiving the highest awards in good old Britain for years - more and more top chefs are also using the rich offer from the sea and from the field for original, regional and sustainable dishes. Let us and England surprise you!
